PASTOR Augustine Yiga of Revival Church Kawala, has been dragged to police over charges of child neglect.

Prossy Nabukenya 23, a resident of Kawala, a Kampala suburb is accusing the pastor commonly known as 'Abizaayo' of neglecting a child he produced with her.

Nabukenya, a former church maid at Revival Church Kawala, told police that since she gave birth to Yiga's child, he has never given her any financial help and has disassociated himself from her.

"When I informed him that I was pregnant he cut off communication. He would not allow me to access his office and stopped picking my calls upto now," Nabukenya explained in her police statement.

She told police that she met Yiga at his church in Kawaala in 2011, where she was serving as a church maid.

"One day, Pastor Yiga told people with problems to come to the prayer room for special prayers. After lining for 2hrs I went into the prayer room where I met him and poured out my problems to him before he prayed for me and later asked for my phone contact," she added.

"After a few days, he called me and started praying through the phone before he summoned me to his office for special prayers. On reaching there, he prayed for 30minutes before smearing olive oil in my private parts" Nabukenya claimed.

She added that the pastor said that she was to be his wife if her problems were to be solved, which she accepted out of desperation.

She wants police to prevail on Yiga so that he can extend help to the 3-year-old boy she claims is his son.

Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango confirmed the complaint and said they will summon Yiga for further investigations into the matter.

Efforts to reach Yiga were futile as his phone was off.

In September last year, Pastor Yiga was dragged to Nabweru Court on charges of child neglect by a woman identified as Brenda Nabukenya.

Ugandan Man Attacks Wife, Sons for Turning to Christ

Ugandan Man Attacks Wife, Sons for Turning to Christ

Africa pdNAMUTUMBA, Uganda (Morning Star News)  A Muslim in eastern Uganda beat and left for dead his wife and 18-year-old son on Tuesday (Aug. 11) after learning they had converted to Christianity, area sources said.
Issa Kasoono beat and strangled his wife, Jafalan Kadondi, in Nsinze village, Namutumba District, but she survived, said a source who requested anonymity for security reasons. He said other relatives joined Kasoono in beating her and their two sons, Ibrahim Kasoono, 18, and Ismael Feruza, 16, though the younger son managed to escape with only bruises on his arm.
All three were treated at a local clinic. Due to injuries from the strangling, Kadondi has lost her voice and has difficulty eating, according to the source and an area pastor.
“The mother and Ibrahim Kasoono were seriously injured,” the source said. “Ibrahim was hit with a blunt object, had his right arm broken and has stomach pains, while the mother was strangled and sustained neck and throat injuries.”
Kadondi requires specialized treatment for her throat injury, said an area pastor whose name and church are withheld for security reasons.
Issa Kasoono left his wife and oldest son inside the house expecting them to die, the two sources said. After Ismael escaped, he ran to a church and informed the pastor of the violence. The pastor and two elders drove to the house, discovered Kadondi and Ibrahim were alive and took them to the clinic in Nsinze, he said.
On Wednesday (Aug. 12), the pastor took them to a relative’s house in another district, he said.
The mother and her two sons put their faith in Christ three months ago, and Kadondi had occasionally been able to secretly attend church meetings. After attending an open-air evangelistic event in May in Nsinze village, Kadondi and her two sons met with the pastor. After he further explained the gospel, they prayed with him to receive Christ as Lord and Savior, he said.
“It was only during this time, when Ibrahim and Ismael are in their holidays, that Issa discovered that the three had joined the Christian faith when a Muslim neighbor informed him,” he said.
Recently converts from Islam to Christianity in eastern Uganda have been suffering persecution regularly. The wife of a former sheikh (Islamic teacher) was poisoned to death on June 17 after she and her husband put their faith in Christ in Nabuli village, Kibuku District. Namumbeiza Swabura was the mother of 11 children, including a 5-month-old baby.
In Kiryolo, Kaderuna Sub-County, Budaka District on March 28, five Muslims gang-raped the 17-year-old daughter of a pastor because the church leader ignored their warnings that he stop worship services, she said.
Uganda’s population is 85 percent Christian and 11 percent Muslim. The country’s constitution and other laws provide for religious freedom, including the right to propagate one’s faith and convert from one faith to another.

Baphomet Statue Unveiled in Detroit to Shouts of ‘Hail Satan,’ Satanist Men Kissing

Baphomet Statue Unveiled in Detroit to Shouts of ‘Hail Satan,’ Satanist Men Kissing

SatanDETROIT — At least 100 people attended the unveiling of a Satanic statue depicting Baphomet being flanked by children on Saturday—a statue that was originally intended to be placed at the Oklahoma state capitol and now may be the subject of an effort to erect it next to a Ten Commandments monument in Arkansas.

As previously reported, the New York-based Satanic Temple had scheduled the unveiling for July 25th in Detroit, Michigan. The group says that it chose Detroit because it has a “good community” of followers, with over 200 members, billing the event as “a night of chaos, noise, and debauchery.”
“Come dance with the Devil and experience history in the making,” its invitation read.

But a group of pastors decided to rally against the event, and also contacted the owner of the event venue, Bert’s Warehouse, to request that the Baphomet unveiling be canceled. Owner Bert Dearing told the Associated Press that when he realized who had booked the event and what his facility would be used for, he gave the Satanic Temple their money back.
Additionally, due to opposition, the Satanic Temple moved the event to secret venue in the city and ticketed attendance to keep opponents out. On Saturday, some attendees wore black or donned devil’s horns as they stood outside waiting to enter a warehouse in downtown Detroit.
However, according to reports, once attendees entered the building, they were sent to a second location—just to throw off opponents as to the event’s whereabouts.
But some still found the venue and protested against the event as they drove by. Online video also captured the unveiling, which took place at approximately 11:30 p.m. Attendees shouted “Hail Satan” as two shirtless men pulled off the cloth that covered the Baphomet and then embraced and kissed each other in front of the statue.
In the meantime, approximately 50 people stood outside of the original venue, Bert’s Warehouse, to pray against Satanism in Detroit.
“We’re fighting for the soul of America. We’re fighting for the soul of the City of Detroit,” David Bullock, pastor of Greater St. Matthew Baptist Church in Highland Park, told those gathered. “The last thing we should do in Detroit is have a welcome party for the Devil.”
“Satan has no place in this city, or any other city,” James Bluford of Rochester Hills likewise prayed out as attendees joined together to pray as the event took place.
As previously reported, the Satanic Temple had raised funds in 2013 to have the statue created in its effort to make a statement about the Ten Commandments monument at the Oklahoma state capitol, and sought to have the Baphomet monument placed next to the Ten Commandments display.
It issued a news release about its intentions following the filing of a lawsuit by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), which asserted that the presence of the Ten Commandments display on government property violated the Establishment Clause of the United States Constitution. The Satanic Temple said that it offered to to donate a statue of Baphomet to be placed near the Ten Commandments display in order to “appease the ACLU’s concerns.”

“The statue will serve as a beacon calling for compassion and empathy among all living creatures,” spokesperson Lucien Greaves explained in his application to the Oklahoma Capitol Preservation Commission. “The statue will also have a functional purpose as a chair where people of all ages may sit on the lap of Satan for inspiration and contemplation.”

Last May, it was announced that the statue was nearing completion, which features the goat-headed figure Baphomet making the sign for the occult as he sits upon a throne with a pentagram overhead. Children fixate their eyes upon him on both sides.

In September, Seventh District Court Judge Thomas Prince concluded that the Ten Commandments monument serves a historical purpose and is not solely the presentment of a religious message as it sits on a plot of land that contains 51 other expressive monuments.

But the case was then appealed to the Oklahoma Supreme Court, which ruled last month that the monument violates the state Constitution’s prohibition on using government property to support a religion. The case is now on appeal.

Although the Oklahoma decision consequently resulted in the group nixing its plans to place the monument next to the Ten Commandments display, the Satanic Temple now says that it will seek to erect the monument adjacent to a similar Decalogue display in Arkansas.

The Satanic Temple asserts that they are neither Devil worshipers or atheists.
“We consider ourselves non-theistic Satanists,” Detroit spokesperson Jex Blackmore told the Metro Times. “Just as much as we get people who think that we’re into the biblical concept of Satan, we get people who think that we’re just posing as Satanists, and not truly Satanists or whatever you would say. Non-theistic Satanism is part of modern Satanism.”

SHEEP OR GOATS : Kamuli born-again Christians kill village thief

Kamuli born-again Christians kill village thief

Posted  Thursday, August 20  2015 at  01:00KAMULI- They may be conversant with the Seventh Commandment “Thou shalt not kill” but a section of born-again Christians in Kamuli fell short in observing the command.
They lynched a man accused of stealing about 20 plastic chairs from the Lufulandizi Pentecostal Church in Buzibirira Trading Centre.
Twaha Kagoda, who had been nicknamed ‘Sniper’ because of allegedly being a habitual thief, is said to have first attended an evening service at the church before reportedly making off with the chairs.
Trouble began when he was found in the trading centre trying to sell the chairs to a local businessman at Shs100,000 on Thursday.
He is said to have fled into a nearby thicket, but angry Christians followed him there and apprehended him before battering him to death.
“We got him with his loot, but he decided to leave it and took off to a nearby thicket but God was on our side and got him,” a member of the Church who preferred not to be named told Daily Monitor.
Kamuli District police commander, Ms Doreen Ninsiima, warned residents against taking the law into their own hands.
She urged the public to always involve the police in tracking of suspected criminals instead of meting out their own form of justice.

Posted  Wednesday, August 19   2015 at  14:27KAMPALA- Former Public Service permanent secretary Jimmy Lwamafa along with former principle accountant, Christopher Obey have been charged and remanded in connection to alleged fraudulent budgeting of over Shs88 billion of civil servants’ contribution to National Social Security Fund (NSSF).
Also charged and remanded is Mr Stephen Kunsa Kiwanuka, the former Director Research & Development.

The suspects who appeared before the Anti Corruption Court in Kololo, an upscale suburb of Kampala, were responding to earlier summons of the court sent out to them last week.

This was after the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) reinstated the pension charges, four months later, following resounding  public outcry after the initial pension case of Shs165 billion was dismissed by the same court citing failure by prosecution to adduce even a single witness in court, two years on.

According to the charge sheet presented to court Wednesday, the suspects face charges ranging from; causing financial loss, abuse of office, false accounting to conspiracy to defraud the government.
They denied all the charges slapped against them by the DPP.

But presiding Chief Magistrate Sarah Langa Siu decided to remand them after the prosecution led by principle state attorney Jane Abodo presented to court a summary of the case saying investigations were complete and that they should be committed to the High Court to stand trial.

The presiding magistrate explained that her court did not have jurisdiction to entertain any applications for bail by the suspects once they were committed to the High Court for trial.

Ms Langa’s refusal to entertain the suspects bail application saw lead defense lawyer Nsubuga Mubiru who wanted to secure bail for his clients locked in a verbal hot exchange with the magistrate.

The prosecution in its charge sheet states that in the financial years 2010/11 and 2011/12, the suspects in their various employment capacities, did an act of prejudicial to the interest of their employer by making budgetary provisions of over Shs88 billion as NSSF contribution while knowing that that civil servants are exempted from contributing to NSSF.

Mr Lwamafa and group can only apply for bail in the High Court.
